Seabrook-Woods micro farm started as a means for me, a stay-at-home mum, to help provide food for my family through raising birds for eggs and growing produce. Through talking to our neighbours and other locals, we discovered that people were also interested in buying what we had to offer. We were able to expand both our numbers and the types of birds we have due to the overwhelming support of our regular customers as well as the lovely tourists that visit us throughout the year. We keep ourselves busy here on the farm with our beloved chickens, quail, and runner ducks, our ongoing pursuit of growing as many different types of fresh produce as we can, and helping other people set up their own small homesteads with hatching eggs, advice about small-scale poultry/game rearing, and produce gardening. Our ultimate goal is to be as self-sufficient as possible and to assist other people to be able to have high-quality food without the big-corporation prices.
